How to Install Benano SDK to use 3D Camera on Cobot in Each Version of TMflow?

Examples are valid for:

3D Camera Type: C2100-400

GPU Driver Installation: refer to How to install NVIDIA GPU driver

TM Robot Version:  Only Supports 1.84.2200 and Above

3DVision License Dongle Key required.


Relevant Information #

The benano driver versions are as follows :

  • TMflow 1.8: v1.22.0.6
  • TMflow 2.16.2200 (inclusive) and earlier: v1.29.1.1
  • TMflow 2.16.2200 and later : v1.29.1.3
  • TMflow 2.18.1800 and later : v1.33.0.5

Software Installation #

Disable UWF #

  • Use the UWF command under the path D:\UWFMGMT
  • After opening UWFUtilityTRI.exe, set the target to C: and press the Disable button
  • Reboot to complete disabling UWF

  • Open UWFUtilityTRI.exe to confirm UWF is Disabled

Install Benano Camera Driver #

  • Execute this file

The installation path must be selected as C:

  • Click Next until the installation is complete

Update FTDI Driver (1/2) #

  • Connect Benano Camera to IPC
  • Open Device Manager
  • Find FTDI from USB device and right click on it -> Update driver

Update FTDI Driver (2/2) #

  • Choose “Browse my computer for driver software”
  • Select Path “C:\ProgramFiles\Benano\Firenze\Dependencies\FTD3XXDriver_WHQLCertified_v1.3.0.8\x64”

Disable Selective Suspend Operation State (USB Sleep Mode) (1/3) #

  • Open Device Manager and expand the “Universal Serial Bus Controllers” section. (The example below may vary depending on the configuration of each machine.)

Disable Selective Suspend Operation State (USB Sleep Mode) (2/3) #

  • Right-click on the “USB 3.0 Extensible Host Controller” device and select “Properties”.
  • In the “Power Management” tab, uncheck the “Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power” option. 

Disable Selective Suspend Operation State (USB Sleep Mode) (3/3) #

  • Right-click on the “USB Root Hub” and “Generic SuperSpeed USB Hub” devices, then select “Properties”
  • Uncheck the “Allow this device to enter power saving mode” option
  • This option may cause issues with the camera not functioning properly after being idle

Camera Test #

  • Connect camera to IPC
  • Open the desktop shortcut Firenze.exe, or select Benano Firenze from the Start menu in the lower left corner.
  • The first time you open it, it will wait on the initialization page for a few minutes. If it opens successfully and displays an image, the installation is successful.

Enable UWF #

  • Use the UWF command under the path D:\UWFMGMT
  • After opening UWFUtilityTRI.exe, set the target to C: and press the Enable button
  • Reboot to complete enabling UWF
  • Open UWFUtilityTRI.exe to confirm UWF is Enabled
